My friend told me yesterday that I sold my PS3 just in time, cause PS3 slim is coming out, and it is cheaper then previous PS launches (apparently SONY is deviating from their usual "keep the price high" marketing strategy) which means that PS3 prices have plunged !!!

SO why the sudden selling of my PS3 ? Actually it wasn't really sudden. I was contemplating it a long time ago... right about after I played finish/ was in the middle of playing Vegas 2. Then came out RE5, which gave me new interest in the console (much like MGS4, which was the reason for me buying the PS3). RE5 for me however, turned out to be less then what I expected . . . I guess I'm just not into horror survivor games (though I must admit Silent Hill Origins and Siren New Translation was a very good experience for me).

What eventually sealed the deal was the dream of getting an M6. (I did contemplate tutoring, but figured that I'd be too lazy to go all the way to some kids house and teach him/her, only to find out homework is not done .... I have friends including my own sister who told me the many horror stories of their tuitees AND those friends/sister are actually more patient then me ....

Anyways, I got my M6 online and I am just DYING waiting for it to arrive ... zzzz

Time only passes as fast as I want it to especially when the damn post office's trace and track service doesn't really update the status of my package often (the last update was like on the 18th of August). And on top of that, i'm alternating duties with another JK (JK commented today, he sees the CQ and ration boxes more often then he sees his own parents .... also, the roadside sweeper is actually more higher paid and has more of a life then us ... ) Just can't wait for more people to relieve us form the duties (which should be this week), then we can start doing our normal duty timings. One good thing about this alternating shit though, is that our mileage has shot up sky high ... we can clock like 320km in a week ! haha...

~ something's worth waiting for ~

THIS (above) is the Leica M6 Panda. It is a "hybrid" version of the M6 Chrome and Black.
After 2 years of trial and error with my 2 different Bessa R2a's (both gone now), I took the plunge and got the M6.

Bought from Salzburg Austria on 17th August 2009, I received it via post on 18th August 2009 11 days and many Euro's later .... finally my 35 1.4 can be united with a body and made whole again !

Only regret now if any, is that at the POS, I got cheap and refused to pay like an extra $350 for the Panda (the picture above is of the actual camera I was contemplating on) , which was in better condition also. Both camera versions are .72 and non TTL.

If only time will pass faster now so that I can bring it on the year end family holiday.

The M6 in movies :P

OMG I'm so happy !!!

We ordered this pizza on tuesday evening for our "DUTY RATION", my first time having Sarpino's .. .. its like omfg nice lar.... hands down, this kicks the butt of the other 2 ehem rival pizzeria's.

16 slices of Butcher and Pepperonni all the 4 of us needed, but we decided to add an order of calamari on the side :D

Was at this place called Hangari Galbi (or some s**t like that) at ION Orchard, which serves Korean BBQ. The food sort of failed (not too badly, just I cannot appreciate korean food and i may never). It is however an ideal place to bring someone who loves Korean food (BUT IS NOT KOREAN), as I think without my biased point of view (against this cuisine), I think its passable and very much edible. I sent this pic through a handphone onto flikr !!!

Sitting in the cabin of the 5 TON truck, I was suddenly alerted to the drones of assault rifle fire and the occasional explosions of M203 rifle grenade, accompanied by the rattling of the SAW Ultimax machinegun. Yes, these were the sounds of the mock battle going on behind the trees and shrubs of the hilly rifle range in area X. I closed my eyes occasionally and tried to create a fictatious scenario of officers ordering the men with the SAW to lay down covering fire whilst the rest of the squad tried to flank the "enemy" from its sides, who duely returned fire and the occasional grenade.
As many if not all of us who have gone through the army's grenade assault course (GAC) will tell you, the blast of a grenade is fucking deafening. Even as I lay comfortably in within the cabin of my vehicle, the blasts pierced through my inear earphones and the sounds of the movie playing on my PSP. And if you thought that was loud, wait till you hear the sound produced by the explosive charges set by the EXPLOMO team to clear blind (unexploded) grenades. Even at distances of 100-200m, they still manage to produce an awefully loud boom accompanied by a shockwave which, unless you grew up in a place like Iraq or Beirut in the 20th/21st century, you will never forget.

Anyway, I was at KL with dkiwi and his dad like 3 weeks ago, these 2 are one of the more enjoyable moments of the trip ! (the place a KLCC was good too, but I was REGRETTABLY too embarrassed to take photos at the table in such a restaurant) Then there was the choot choot and the beer ... omg.. I actually enjoyed the trip very much, just that these were the only 2 food pictures taken :P
One thing interesting about KL is the KL Express line, which is one of their many rail systems. This particular line requires the user the press a button in order for the door to open. Being the tourists that we were, me and kiwi like stood at the entrance staring "blankly" at the other commuters who wanted to board the carriage whilst people at the other doors exited and entered (i guess its their unwritten custom that the passengers inside the carriage is supposed to press the button to open the carriage doors). Only after an awkward 20 or so seconds did the dude at the other side of the door press the button to open the carriage doors, which became our point of increased knowledge/ experience (nodoubt gained the embarrassing way !)

Also, I've started attending RCIA. Perhaps Catholicism is my calling ?

Also, the following be a new addition to the family ! Her name is Joey, and she still does not recognize it nor recognize a proper piss/ shit point ... :( Hope that with lots of continued love and tough love, she will eventually find her place in the Ong family (tough she can never replace that special place tiger holds in my heart) And so, I guess that is pretty much my highlight in the last month of June :) Can't wait to see what August have installed for me and the people I will be interacting with !
