the calm..... before the storm

life ... ROX! I seriously dig this regimental lifestyle ! Signing on is ofcourse NOT an option for me at the moment, but no harm making the most out of my time now right ? (noone pointed a gun at my head while i wrote this post .... incase you were wondering)

Anyway, i guess this is the calm or the enjoyment period while I'm still in a unit, before the "storm" when I return to Casa De Tekong PROLY next month. That place isn't so bad actually, interms of infrastructure, safety measures etc etc. I mean sure, training can get tough, but its all part of TRAINING and part of teaching one to be DISCIPLINE and what nots which are all part of the SAF core value system, but after all, many have gone through this path, and besides, what I ABSOLUTELY love best about it is that I train beside other men, comrades in arms if you will - FRIENDS. The only REAL and BIG problem of that place I guess, is the fact that one is "CUT OFF" from the mainland, and therefore there is a possibility to loose touch with the outside world (may get depressing). But for those of you reading this and going in soon, TRUST me - just take it as it comes with a positive attitude (you have probably heard this line like a gazzzzzilion times) but its true, BMT is really one of the most fun time of NS life (fun does not mean "nua" or lax or slack etc. it means you make friends, do silly things, learn lots and best of all, get a shot at SAFTI for PES A/B candidates ... that boat for me has sailed though, and I guess I missed it .. haiz sadnessssss)

Also, not all the sergeants or commanders are a'holes out to gan your ass... look at it from their perspectives - they are just doing their jobs... being an out of coursee, I was given the opportunity to meet the commanders behind closed doors away from the prying eyes of trainees, and like 9 of 10 of them are very nice people, its just that they have to be tough to trainees ESPECIALLY those who buay gao gan (never tio fuck enough and therefore yearning to tio gan) in order to shape us up and toughen us up. Its not called MILLITARY training for nothing ...

Today one corporal volunteered to help another corporal UNCONDITIONALLY (no further details to be revealed about the nature), citing that "he was from my Tekong days". That statement made an IMPACT on me. As for myself, I embrace my 13 week recourse and I just hope that I get another bunch of CHAO recruits as tough and as superb as the ones from my first BMT encounter. Cross my fingers and pray to the Almighty :)

Tomorrow I go for FFI (fit for infantry) to certify that I'm 100% ready for BMT.

This weekend going to the UWA open house to apply for courses, I might just "CONVENIENTLY" turn down SMU therefore leaving me "NO CHOICE" but to go over to UWA :P haha [ofcourse i'm not that siao lar... just a thought though] nights nights

BORING ! Is the word of the day. I'm BORED beyond imagination... nevermind that, in 3 days time I'll be back at COY line with a goal in life ... but RIGHT NOW I am so freaking bored.... Just don't know why. Hasn't felt like that in a long time ( the feeling you get when you have absolutely so much time on your hands but no plan or goals in life...)

I SERIOUSLY CANNOT come close to comprehending how come of my buddies from camp (not mentioning names here) can actually stay home all day and for like a few days at a time/ their entire leave... do they like have some cool hobby which I don't ? perhaps there is some cool activity going round singapore amongst the teens/ young adult populace which I am not aware of .... main thing is ... on weekdays, friends are at work, serving the country or studying which means there is like TOTALLY NOONE to meet (thanks to the start of uni this monday ...) from like 8 'a' freakin' 'm' till like dinner and on somedays LIKE TODAY, NOONE to meet at all....

Will be going back to Tekong HOPEFULLY next month, but then again, it only depends on the effeciancy of clerks and availability of spaces... Wonder if they treat recoursees any better/worse... guess I'll find out soon :)
